BillQuick Report Customization

Business Problem: Our client was using BillQuick to manage their time and billing for their service business.  While BillQuick provides many useful forms and reports out of the box, they didn't match our client's needs.  The client wanted the forms seen by clients, such as invoices, to reflect their established branding.  They also needed to modify the functionality of some of the internal and external reports and forms to suit their business processes.

Solution: BillQuick uses Crystal Reports for all of their forms and reports.  Because of our expertise and experience with Crystal, we were able to take the stock reports and modify them, both visually and functionally, to meet the client's requirements.  The modified reports included:

  • A custom invoice for printing on the client's letterhead stock
  • A custom invoice for exporting to PDF, allowing the client to email their invoices
  • A custom retainer invoice for printing on the client's letterhead stock
  • A billing review report that allows the client to review all billable hours before generating invoices
  • A timecard summary report to allow management to review all time worked by employees

Datachunker

Solution: We created Datachunker, a program that automates this process.  The user can tell it where to find the photographs and give it a folder in which to

Real-Time Graphing of Scientific Data

Business Problem: Our client was using Synopsis' SaberTM and Network Analysis, Inc.'s SINDA/GTM to analyze electrical systems and thermal systems respectively. The models being analyzed were large and took non-trivial amounts of time to run. The client wanted real-time feedback in the form of graphs displaying data from the models as it was generated. Saber has post-mortem graphing only and SINDA/G has no graphing capability.

Grid Computing

Business Problem: Our client needed to perform 1.7 million high-density ray-tracing calculations using an in-house application. We ran tests and estimated that on the fastest PC available, this would take approximately two years and nine months. The client needed it done in under six months in order to meet their schedule on a multi-million dollar project. They would have to run such calculations at least once a year for the next several years as part of ongoing support for their project.
